Welcome to the Winter Blast Blog!
THE 5K FOR RUNNERS BY RUNNERS
We are of course aiming to promote our race and help it continue to grow. The Winter Blast is known as a race “for runners put on by runners” and we love the stories of those who run in it, like Grandville resident Harold Plaisier. It benefits the athletic boosters and the cross country teams I coach at Calvin Christian High School in Grandville, MI by reducing some summer cross-country camp fees, and your support and that of our sponsors is greatly appreciated!
We're also excited to announce that we are partnering with the city of Grandville's Winter ShakeUp celebration! All WinterBlast registrants will receive Winter ShakeUp Bucks good for food and activities in downtown Grandville following the Winter Blast! Carriage rides, sled dogs, chili pepper eating contest, and many more activities wait for you at the Winter ShakeUp.
Over the years of coaching I have seen many of the kids I coach devleop a passion for staying fit and racing fast. I have been blessed with seeing many talented 9th graders start running and becoming fast and dedicated runners.
That passion for running is one many of you have as well so watch our blog for posts on what has worked well for my team and myself over the years -- topics such as winter running tips, core & active warm-up, benefits of physical therapy as a preventative measure, diet, workouts, goal setting, and more. I hope you find the tips shared on this blog will help you motive to continue having a blast running!
